Privacy Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2025
Last Updated: November 29, 2025

1. Introduction & Scope

Vibe Jam ("we," "our," or "us") cares about your privacy. We're committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your information. This Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data when you use our website, join our workshops, or interact with our community.

This policy covers information we collect through our website, email, workshop platforms, and any other way you interact with us. Take a read through—if you're not comfortable with anything here, feel free to reach out with questions or choose not to use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Give Us

When you sign up, join workshops, or interact with us, you might share:

  • Account Info: Name, email address, username, and profile information
  • Workshop Participation: Projects you share, questions you ask, feedback you give
  • Payment Information: Billing details and payment method (processed securely through payment processors—we don't store your full card info)
  • Communications: Emails, messages, and other correspondence with us
  • Community Content: Work you share in workshops, comments, and community interactions
  • Newsletter Signups: Email address if you subscribe to updates

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you visit our website or use our services, we automatically collect:

  • Usage Data: Pages you visit, how long you stay, what you click
  • Device Info: Browser type, device type, operating system, IP address
  • Cookies & Tracking: Information from cookies and similar technologies (see our cookie preferences)
  • Analytics: Aggregated data about how people use our site (this helps us improve)

2.3 Information from Third Parties

Sometimes we get information from third-party services you use to access our workshops (like Google Meet, payment processors, or workshop platforms). We only get what's necessary to provide our services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide workshops, content, and community access
  • Communicate with you about workshops, updates, and your account
  • Process payments and manage your membership
  • Improve our workshops and website based on how people use them
  • Respond to your questions and support requests
  • Send newsletters and updates (only if you've opted in)
  • Keep our community safe and prevent abuse
  • Protect our services from fraud and security threats
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
  • Showcase community work (with your permission)
  • Analyze usage patterns to make our services better

We don't sell your personal information. We're not in that business. We use your data to provide and improve our services, period.

4. Privacy in Our Community

Community Sharing

When you share work, ask questions, or participate in our workshops, that content is visible to other members and us. Don't share anything super private or sensitive in public workshop spaces.

What we keep private:

  • Your account information and payment details
  • Private messages between you and us
  • Personal information you don't choose to share publicly
  • Usage data and analytics (aggregated and anonymized)

What's visible to the community:

  • Work you share in workshops (by design—that's the point!)
  • Comments and questions you post in community spaces
  • Your username and profile (if you create one)
  • Public project showcases (only if you opt in)

Bottom line: think before you share. If it's private, keep it private. If it's creative work you want feedback on, share away!

5. Information Sharing & Disclosure

5.1 We Don't Sell Your Data

We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information. That's not our business model. We make money from memberships, not from your data.

5.2 Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party services to run our business: website hosting, payment processing, email services, workshop platforms, and analytics tools. These companies only get the information they need to do their job, and they're contractually required to protect your data.

5.3 When We Have to Share

We might share information if:

  • We're required by law (court orders, subpoenas, etc.)
  • Law enforcement needs it for an investigation
  • We need to protect our rights or prevent harm
  • You've given us explicit permission
  • It's necessary to provide our services (like processing payments)

5.4 Community Content

Work you share in workshops is visible to other members (that's the whole point!). If you opt in to showcase your work publicly, we might feature it on our website or social media. We'll always ask before featuring your work prominently.

6. How We Protect Your Data

We take security seriously. We use industry-standard measures to protect your information:

  • Encrypted connections (SSL/TLS) for data transmission
  • Secure servers and infrastructure
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular security updates and monitoring
  • Secure payment processing (we don't store your full card info)
  • Limited access—only people who need your data can see it

That said, nothing on the internet is 100% secure. We do our best, but we can't guarantee perfect security. Use strong passwords, don't share your account info, and let us know if you see anything suspicious.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data

We keep your information as long as we need it to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

  • Account Information: While your account is active, plus a reasonable period after cancellation
  • Workshop Content: As long as you're a member, and optionally longer if you want to keep access to past workshops
  • Payment Records: 7 years for tax and legal compliance
  • Communications: As long as needed to respond and provide support
  • Analytics Data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be kept longer for improvement purposes

When you cancel, you can request we delete your account data (except what we need to keep for legal/tax reasons). We'll delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Your Rights & Choices

8.1 Access Your Data

You can see what information we have about you. Just ask! We'll provide it in a reasonable timeframe.

8.2 Update or Delete

You can update your account information anytime through your account settings. Want us to delete your data? Just let us know. We'll delete what we can (some stuff we have to keep for legal/tax reasons).

8.3 Marketing & Communications

Don't want our newsletter? No problem. Click "unsubscribe" in any email or update your preferences in your account. We'll still send you important account-related stuff (like payment confirmations), but we'll stop the marketing emails.

8.4 Cookies & Tracking

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some features might not work as well if you block cookies, but that's your choice.

8.5 State Privacy Rights

If you're in California, Virginia, Colorado, or other states with privacy laws, you have additional rights (like knowing what we collect, opting out of sales, etc.). We don't sell your data, but you still have these rights. Just reach out if you want to exercise them.

9. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for payments, workshops, email, and analytics. We also link to AI tools and resources we teach about. These services have their own privacy policies and terms. We're not responsible for how they handle your data, so check their policies if you're concerned.

When you use third-party AI tools we teach about (like image generators, music creators, etc.), their privacy policies apply, not ours. Always read their terms before using any tool.

10. International Users

We're based in the United States, so your information is stored and processed here. If you're joining from outside the U.S., your data will be transferred here. By using our services, you're okay with that transfer.

11. Age Requirements

Our workshops are for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from kids. If we find out someone under 18 signed up, we'll delete their account and data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We might update this policy as our service evolves or laws change. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date and try to let you know. If you keep using our services after we update the policy, that means you're cool with the changes.

13. Legal Compliance

We follow applicable privacy laws, including:

  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA)
  • Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)
  • Colorado Privacy Act (CPA)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for EU users
  • State data breach notification laws
  • Other applicable federal and state privacy laws

If you have questions about your rights under these laws, just ask. We're here to help.

14. If Something Goes Wrong

If we discover a data breach or unauthorized access, we'll notify affected users as soon as possible (and as required by law). We'll also take steps to fix the issue and prevent it from happening again.

If you notice something suspicious with your account, let us know immediately. We take security seriously and want to fix problems fast.

15. Questions? Let's Talk
